Our story
Hi, I'm Jayana.
I'm a mom of three. Two of my children have disabilities, and my daughter receives SSI. I've sat on the other side of the desk — filling out the applications, gathering the documents, waiting on the notices, trying to decode letters full of jargon while worrying about my kids. I know what that feels like, because I've lived it.
That experience is what pulled me into this work professionally. I served as a benefits counselor at Taconic Resources for Independence, advocating for people with disabilities and guiding them through the benefits maze. Over the past ten years I've worked across healthcare and health insurance — from caring for people with cognitive impairments to supervising a program delivering thousands of enrollments a month. I'm also a licensed Life, Accident & Health insurance agent in Georgia.
I started Georgia Benefits Support because I kept seeing the same thing: good people missing out on help they qualify for, simply because the system is too confusing to navigate alone. No family should have to figure this out by themselves.
That's why our guides and resources will always be free — and when you need a hand with the harder stuff, like applications, notices, or renewals, I'm here for that too.
